"Everything But Bagel" Salmon

Serves: 4 | Serving Size: 1 fillet

Total Time: 25 min | Prep: 5 min | Cook: 20 min 

This dish provides a delicious new way to serve baked salmon using an old favorite spice from bagel bakers..


  • 4, 3-ounce salmon fillets

  • 1/2  tsp sesame seeds

  • 1/2 tsp poppy seeds

  • 1/2 tsp dried minced onion

  • 1/4 garlic powder

  • (or replace the spices the already-made condiment "Everything but bagel" mix found at Trader Joes's or your favorite food store)


  1. Toast the sesame seeds in a dry, nonstick skillet over medium heat for about a minute.

  2. Add the rest of the seasonings and remove from heat. Toss together and allow to cool. Store in a covered jar until ready to use.

  3. Press the seasoning on the salmon fillets. Place the salmon in a baking dish.

  4. Bake for 20 minutes at 400F.

  5. Serve salmon hot.

  6. Optional: vegetables and potatoes to go with the salmon.


This seasoning goes great on flat bread, pita pockets, and grilled fish or chicken.
